Sexy shoes can prevent feeling low!

Many things make us happy and much can makes us sad, but according to Lindsay Lohan, wearing sexy stilettos stops her from feeling depressed.
The A-List actress who is reported to own 5000 pairs of shoes has been under the spotlight recently and has endured constant criticism from the world media over her slim figure and her wild partying. Ms Lohan revealed that through times of negative media bombardment wearing high heels kept her upbeat.
Ms Lohan said if she was having a bad day, that she would put on a pair of stilettos, some lipstick and a great dress and go shopping.
Lohan who loves to change her style is always close to the fashion pulse of the media and like many of the celebrities out there, she probably needs to think carefully about what she wears. I like most women don’t have to carefully choose what we wear for fear of being unduly scrutinized by the media, but all the same I find that I can try on several pairs of shoes with an outfit and even though I may not wear any of them, it sure makes me feel good choosing.

Heels can improve your love life!

Okay it’s well known that high stilettos can cause damage to feet, but apparently it can be just as dangerous to wear flat heals.
Some Podiatrists are now advising people to wear sexy high heels to help keep their feet healthy.
There seems to be a rising trend in foot injuries caused by people walking around in in flats, flip flops and pumps. Flats may be comfortable to wear but can cause severe pain, bunions, back pains and even arthritic pain.
Consul ant podiatric surgeon: Mike O’Neill stated that in the last 4 years there has been a significant increase in foot related injuries as a result of wearing flat heels.
Although I feel that pain and damage to our feet as not put most of us wearing our chosen footwear, what might be worth considering is what new research as shown: Which found that women who wear heels of around 2-5 inches have an improved sex life.
According to the research, the body posture adopted as a result of wearing high heels improved the pelvic floor muscles, which dramatically improve activities in the bedroom.
Although generally wearing a particular shoe for prolonged periods is rarely a good thing, I find that wearing several styles and for shorter times within the week keep my feet in quite good shape.

I love High Heels

What’s the deal with high heels? It seems no matter how uncomfortable & painful they are to walk in we just love them to the point where they are one of the biggest sellers in ladies shoes.
There is a kind of mystique associated with high heels; they make me feel like a goddess or a princess with every one look towards you with admiration.
High heels are timeless and although most of us would wear them only on special occasions there is no denying the allure that they have and you feel when wearing them.

These Black Evening high heel shoes are interesting in many ways, although they are intended for a more conservative look they could quite latterly be worn with anything (or nothing, if you prefer) the design and quality of these shoes is absolutely outstanding
These are absolutely gorgeous and look amazing on; they make you feel really unique and individual.
Lovely pearlised patent upper and a gorgeous textured snake finish with the most beautiful diamante buckle to the front - designer inspired at a fraction of the cost. They are really stunning shoes at a great price. The heels have a 5 inch cone stiletto heel and 1/2 inch platform- very sexy

These Black/gold high heel shoes are great for evening wear. The design and quality of these shoes is none less than outstanding. These are absolutely gorgeous and although a little uncomfortable look amazing on, really unique and individual. A Caring effort with the pearlised patent upper and a gorgeous fish tail detail with diamante buckle to the front.

These are two of my favorite high heels at this moment in time, both are well designed and are not mass produced. I feel they appeal to people like me that have expensive tasted but a more modest budget.
These are available from
funky footwear or on eBay between £20 and £25

How to look weird with shoes

Ever wondered what to wear or worried if somebody else will have the same outfit on? Well a sure way of standing out from the crowd and having an interesting wardrobe is to opt for weird or unusual shoes. Here is a collection of what I consider to be quirky and unique by virtue of the fact most of us will not wear them.

Killer Heels are Back!

Impossible to walk in, wicked points and uncomfortable raised heels earn these fashion icons the name killer heels. They are set to make a comeback, albeit with certain little changes such as little cutouts, high-rise T-bars, and fabric inserts
Okay these high stilettos will make your legs look good; the style is universally flattering to most of us. The style gives the shoes a low vamp in order to slim the ankle, the very high heel forces the calf muscle to tighten for a much leaner line. The pointed toe shape gives the legs a sleek lengthening effect.
Although these pointy heels are designed to make your legs look their best, they are without question difficult to walk in and I would only wear them on the most important of occasions… such as dropping the children of at schools and shopping.

My Dream Shoes

Wow! If like me you love cars almost as much as shoes, than this concept design could be your dream pair of stilettos. Tim Cooper a concept artist based this “top gear” of a design on Lamborghini’s Gallardo Superleggera. The carbon fibre heel and the super car styling are unique… These look every bit as fast as the supercar that they are inspired by, although I am holding out for a pair styled on the VW Beetle.

Rihanna superstar of style

I have noticed an evolution in the super stylish Rihanna, she has ditched the baggy jean look and opted for design sophistication.
Her revamped look is the work of her team of professionals that have been working for her over the last few months. The roll call is the who’s who of fashion experts: Mariel Haenn, Tippi Shorter and Mylah Morales, who are the A-list hair stylist, makeup stylist and fashion guru. This ultimate fashion team has been with Rihanna almost everywhere (maybe not the ladies room)
Mariel Haenn, (fashion consultant) despite working with Rihanna and having the backing of Jay-Z and Def Jam does have to work within a budget. She says “There is definitely always a budget, and it’s not always what we would like it to be, but that’s the challenge of my job. That’s what makes you a good star; she doesn’t keep any of it”.
Since working with Mariel Haenn, Rihanna has worn high-end designers like Yves Saint Laurent, LaROK, Gucci, Jean-Paul Gaultier and BCBG.
To Achieve Rihanna’s new superstar look, Mariel Haenn works round the superstar singers nonstop schedule. Often starting at 5am and going on till 2am the next morning... wow!

Why more of us are wearing boots in the summer

styles of footwear associated with these genre’s. Its May and its quite warm (for once) in the UK, so who in the right mind would wear boots?
Well, it seems that there is more and more of us doing so.
Sexy
boots are a great addition to outfits throughout the year. They can spice up a winter outfit or add a little attitude and flavor to a summer outfit, even shorts, denim minis, sundresses, and prairie skirts. In fact, many within the fashion industry look at women’s boots as the all-terrain vehicle of footwear, providing a rough-and-ready look while still offering fashionable allure in the form of decorative stitching, pointy toes, and wedged heels.
Wearing
boots in the summer is becoming an especially popular trend. In response to this movement, many shoe lines have increased production of their boots and have found them to be flying off the shelves.
When looking for a pair of sexy boots, it is certainly important to pay attention to style. After all, certain features are what set an ordinary pair of women’s boots apart from
sexy boots. Intricate stitching, a slouching style, and heels are among the factors that create the sexy look.
In addition to the look, the quality of the boot is also important. After all, poorly crafted women’s boots can be painful on the feet after being worn all day. A quality pair of boots, on the other hand, can actually be quite comfortable. Sturdy quality materials boots help absorb wetness, unlike boots made from cheap synthetic materials. In addition, cheap synthetic materials are put together with cheap glue, which clogs the ventilation and causes the boots to heat up – no woman desires having hot, sweaty feet, even if it is for a pair of sexy boots.
Tips for
Wearing Sexy BootsThere really are not many dos and don’ts when it comes to wearing boots. First, women’s boots are truly an all around shoe to wear.
For the most part, boots should never be tucked into the jeans. This is a very dated look that throws the wearer back to the ‘80’s. Other than that, the general rule with wearing sexy boots is to push the limits and wear them with any outfit needing a little edge or a taste of rebellion.
Sexy boots are a fantastic fashion accessory providing the height offered by high-heels without sacrificing comfort. The added support and the shapely look they give to the wearer’s legs are definite perks, as is the touch of rebelliousness yet trendiness afforded by a great pair of women’s boots.

rave scene

A question that I get asked in my shop more and more is… “What to wear for a rave”
Yes the Rave scene is very much alive and kicking and whilst it’s evolved since the early 90’s the emphasis on dance and a lot of dancing is as prevalent now as was back then.
If you dance a lot at a rave (and most do) then footwear and the right kind is essential. The high heels and some boots may have to take the back seat in favour of trainers, flats, mules, or very light ankle or calve boots.
The footwear is often accessorized with bright coloured ankle bands or even glittery items, many regular ravers will use fabric paint or glitter glue themselves.
Comfort comes before style at a Rave but not at the expense of it.
Here is some really good tips from
www.ehow.com happy raving J
Decide How to Dress at a Rave Party
1. Step 1
Be comfortable in whatever you decide to wear. Rave parties go on all night, so you don’t want to have shoes cutting into your ankles and straps that keep falling off our shoulders.
2. Step 2
Ask your friends what they are wearing. This is a good way to judge how your should dress for the night.
3. Step 3
Wear shoes you can dance in. If you can’t dance in heels, leave them at home. Even comfortable shoes can be hard to move in.
4. Step 4
Think about the venue when you get dressed for the evening. An outdoor party will mean dirt and mud, so it’s probably a good idea to leave your designer clothes at home.
5. Step 5
Considering wearing loose clothes so you can move around and dance easier. They will also be more comfortable in the morning on your ride home.
6. Step 6
Try to wear something that will work at breakfast the next morning in case you decide to grab a bite to eat with friends. You want to be just as comfortable with your clothes after the rave as you are while you are at it.
7. Step 7
Gauge how you should dress by the size of the rave. If the party is at a local club, then most people will be dressed very casually. On the other hand, if the party is a huge event with several DJs and a high price tag, you’ll find many more people in outrageous clothes.
Stand out at a Rave
8. Step 1
Wear something fun and crazy. At a rave, you really can get away with wearing just about anything. This is your chance to wear the crazy shoes or that funky dress you found at the thrift store.
9. Step 2
Throw some glitter on. Glitter looks stunning under the lights, and even men can get away with a bit of it on their face.
10. Step 3
Feel free to make your own clothes. A rave is a great place to show off your DIY t-shirts and dyed jeans.

hot shoes for hot weather

The time is almost here… it’s that small segment of the year that us here in the UK have sunny weather.
It’s a known fact (if not obvious) that most of take up more outdoor activities in the summertime, such as walking in the park, visiting the beach, or those hot summer nights in open air cafĂ© bars (beer gardens).
It’s then not surprising that we tend to buy a lot of foot care products at this time of year, for ailments associated with spending a long time on your feet.

Choosing the correct footwear to help you keep mobile and fresh in the hot weather is crucial. As well as being good for walking in, your footwear must look good and match the compliment your summer outfit.
Although I personally like
mules, sandals and some type of gel shoe for comfort, I have noticed more and more of us choosing to wear a gladiator flat style sandal. Okay they may not be as quick to slip on and off as regular sandals, but let’s face what they lack in convenience they make up for in style.
The cost of the shoe is not important and often
£10 pairs of gladiator sandals rival many of the ones that are in the £100 range, the only provisory is look for well stitched and decent soles.

Is 1980 still in fashion?

I was looking at some old pictures of me this morning and the first thing I noticed was how outdated the fashion is, especially the shoes.
Now these pictures where only a 5 years ago, but it got me thinking about how fashion as evolved in decades gone by, both in terms of our attitudes and how it affects us..
If we look at the 60’s fashion (last century, it was dominated by the hippy movement and to some extent punk rock. The Saturday night fever disco inferno 70S (I love 70s style) ushered in a new era with our beloved shoes and put the “
funky” into footwear.
The 80’s , okay for me it’s not one of my favorite decades for iconic fashion, although there is no denying that this was a very big and important decade for sophisticated, powerful and in your face footwear. The contemporary look of the 80’s was like no other decade gone before, it was now influenced by television, especially within the UK and increasing popularity of soaps and the advent of MTV.

The 80’s with their yuppie and power image messages resulted in more of us women breaking those typical stereotypes. No longer where we considered the weaker sex, in fact our clothes and shoes reflected this and created a movement like no other and 10 years before the
Spice Girls came up with the “girl power” slogan.
High heels, big shoulder pads and big brand labels where the order of the day, the business look inspired many designers to reflect this in their footwear. The big labels reached across every aspect of our wardrobe and no more than footwear, especially trainers. It was almost unacceptable to have non branded trainers and the big brands made sure you and everyone else knew this.
The 80’s was a true illustration of the might of corporate fashion with its uncompromising views on what we all should wear and how much we should pay for it. I do like some of the shoes that were born in the 80’s, although unlike the massive corporations, I believe fashion can be individual and does not need to cost the earth.

Gladiator shoes

Just received brand new samples of an exclusive high heel sandal, due for release on the8th May. I have been waiting for these in anticipation, mainly due the fact that I have always found high heel platforms awkward to walk in.

I can say that these not only feel great to walk in they are superb for those steep stairs and awkward escalators.

This platform is available in 3 colours and great care and intention as been given into the actual tint and finish of the various colours.

The 3 colours are Black, Red and Yellow. As with all finishes I like to test the durability by knocking and trying to scuff them on hard surfaces. I was amazed at how strong the finish is on this shoe. The durability of these is as good if not better than many similar styles that are 5 times the price

The foot bed is well padded with gold finish sole; the stitching is carefully done and the precision of the thread reflects the high grade quality of this shoe.

The 4.5 inch heel and 1 inch platform are sturdy and feel solid to touch.

There as many know are referred to as gladiator shoes… I can honestly say that these are much tougher than that.

Aristocracy of Style… Lady Gaga

Okay not quite up there with the Royal Family, but Lady Gaga is becoming the next big thing here in the UK.

Although in the US Lady Gaga as been big for quite some time, she is now hitting her home turf with some momentum.

Eccentric she may be, but this British 23 year old is not only famous for super funky tunes… she is also renowned for her very unusual and often bold dress sense.

Lady Gaga is more “Infamous” than “Famous” for her whacky dress sense, which was witnessed by many earlier this month when she made a public appearance in a transparent cat-suit.

I personally think she has loads of character and takes the “quirky” style to a new level. Although Lady Gaga states she is a ‘clean punk’. Despite our crazy dress sense she insists she is inspired by high end fashion designers.

Her look is original and although she has been experimenting with since a child, I somehow feel her experiment is far from over. J

Addicted to Shoe?

Imagine buying shoes or boots only to store them and never wear them. For some people shoes are a work of art that should be appreciated from a far.

I was surprised to discover that your foot wear can reflect your mood or vice versa , they have an affect physiologically and psychologically without actually wearing them.

One of our customers requested that I only send her shoes with immaculate boxes because she intended to store them in a purpose built shoe room that her husband had built.

I was quite interested in her requests, because I myself do the same thing. I however always have 2 pairs of the same shoes. One for wearing and the other for my shoe room.

In conversation with her, I discovered that she had a stressful job that often left her exhausted and sometimes low. She explained that at times of deep anxiety she would go and sit in her shoe room for a little while and would come our de stressed and much more positive. I can relate a little to this and feel that certain items from my shoe collection evoke specific emotions.

I suppose shoes are great way to express ourselves and not only making me look taller or changing my walk they can also make me feel great.
